André Saraiva is the French graffiti artist, hotelier, and nightlife pioneer (of the iconic Hotel Amour in Paris and Le Baron globally). André’s career began in the mid-1980s on the streets of Paris, when he first started painting his graffiti on the walls of the city. In 1988, André introduced a cheery, top-hatted, stick figure character by the name of “Mr. A”. As the first graffiti artist to paint a character or scene in place of the traditional “tag name”, he quickly became known as Paris’s most active street artist, and one of the world’s most prominent. André has collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, Sonia Rykiel, Levi’s, Nike, L’Oreal, Hypebeast, and Converse, to name a few, and is at work on his first book with Rizzoli.
